Praise your child for a true accomplishment. Give it privately whenever possible. The privacy of your praise will keep it away from other children who may experience some negative feelings just by hearing it.
Parenting Technique 10 – Keep praise as personal as possible.
When your child has accomplished something, he or she reaps two kinds of rewards–inner satisfaction and outer recognition. Inner praise and your clear awareness and pride in what has just happened together make a powerful combination.
Even if you have to wait to find that exact right time to give your praise, rest assured that your child is not missing a beat.
