Let’s brainstorm all month long about how to change this current “shoot ‘em up” mentality.
The big overriding concept is “Needs Met.” Remember Maslow’s hierarchy of needs. Basically he taught us that we all operate on a “first things first” basis. If you are tired, hungry, or out of sorts, you are not able to give your full attention to what needs to be done, do it well or do it right. If people cannot get good attention, the next best thing is bad attention. What seems to be happening now is young people getting the worst kind of attention of all.
During the next month we will be exploring the range of basic needs children have and the many different ways to meet them. There are always ways to make the human condition better.
