Activity 49 – My Family Collage*
Age Range – Preschool and Up
Area Being Developed – Social Development – Self-awareness and Self-esteem
With a marker write “My Family” on the outside of a file folder (colored if you have one). Use the inside to place photos of people in your family. Using double-sided tape to attach the photos, have your child place them in a collage-like fashion anywhere in the folder. As more people or pets enter the family, or as you get more pictures of other family members, have your child place them in the collage folder.
A folder adds an element of surprise to this “family unit” concept. Your child will always have the fun of opening it up to see who is shown inside.
Tradition! Make a new folder each year around holiday time. Look back from folder to folder and enjoy how the family grows and changes over time.
