Sweets! Treats! Sweets! Treats!
Make these two concepts as separate as possible for your child this holiday season.
Do your best to keep sugar away. A taste for sweets starts early and lasts forever.
Here is the rule of thumb:
If your baby or young child does not ask for a sugary item, do not be the one to give or suggest it. If, on the other hand, your young child is old enough to purposefully ask you for a sugary treat, establish a one per day policy.
If a loving person gives your child something sugary, and the time is not right for him or her to have it, save it. Your child may even forget!
A happy, healthy, and safe holiday to you and your family!
