Dads made the news… last weekend… a lot, and it was all good! First, there were glowing reports about families around the world who were honoring dads for Father’s Day. Then there were wonderful stories about Dads who take the opportunity every day in different ways to spend time with their children.
Best of all was research about dads showing that on the whole most have an extraordinary commitment to their children.
Here are a couple of major findings:
- Being a father causes men to have better health, drink less, and have less substance abuse.
- Fatherhood prompts men to be less self-centered, more giving, and more outward focused.
- As a dad, men are more responsible, more mature, and temper some of their previous risks.
That is good news!
