Welcome April! The Month of Volunteering

As we traditionally welcome each month with a poem, here is the traditional one that most school children learn as a way to remember the different month lengths.

As you continue to teach this lesson to your children, I thought you might like to know the exact version that is most often attributed to Mother Goose.

Thirty days hath September

Thirty days have September,

April, June, and November.

All the rest have 31,

Except February alone,

And that has 28 days clear,

And 29 in a leap year.

Thirty days have September,

April, June, and November

All the rest have 31,

Except for February.

April! The Month of Volunteering

“A kind heart is a fountain of gladness, making everything in its vicinity freshen into smiles.”

~ Washington Irving
