Tip 85 – Use famous and fun stories to practice memory skills with your child.
Read a well-known story to your child like The Three Bears, The Hungry Caterpillar, The Three Little Kittens, Green Eggs and Ham, Blueberries for Sal or one of your own favorites. Then ask your child to tell the story back to you.
Parenting Insight…
Help your child as much or as little as is necessary to tell the story. That is one way you can use and enjoy your coaching role as a parent.

AT YOUR FRIEND’S HOUSE
Playing means there’s work to do
Before you end your stay.
Try to do the best you can
To put all things away.
Tell your friend how great it is
That you and he are friends.
Don’t forget to thank him well
Before your visit ends.
Show him you were happy with
The things he let you do.
Then tell your friend that you had fun
And tell his parents too.
THANK YOU FOR HAVING ME
