Tip 98 – For salad, use creativity… and the seven inch plate, the exact right adult portion size and also the size of your outstretched hand.

A standard salad plate is about seven inches… just right… for adults. Use whatever fun plate you have for your child, and keep in mind the out-stretched hand size of your child as the portion guideline.

Prepare what you have available in appropriate amounts for you and your child.

Parenting Insight...

For sweets made with white flour and sugar, stay away from them as much as possible. Use dried fruits instead and enjoy them in your creative salads.

March! The Month of the Rainbow

Salads are great fun for kids. Make your last one this month and include all the colors of the rainbow. Then turn corn pieces into your version of a pot of gold.
