Welcome August! A Back to School Fun Poem

Back to school poemParenting Insight…

Welcome to August, the month of transition. It’s time to wind down from the summer and get ready for the new school year.

“Every new beginning comes from some other beginning’s end.”

— Seneca (Roman philosopher, mid-1st century AD)

Here is a fun poem that I hope will help you get in the mood.

Oh What a Beautiful Day !

Good morning I love you. Get up and get dressed.
A new day is here, and that is the best!

Wash up and get ready. There’s so much to do.
There’s fun to be had and lots that is new.

Breakfast is made. I hope it’s just great.
The table is set. Just fill up your plate.

Your lunch is all packed and ready for you.
Your snack cups are out. Just take one or two.

Focus on work when you are at school.
Doing your best is our house rule.

Come home to regroup, relax, and go play.
Then finish your work and do as you may.

When dinner time comes, your family’s there.
We talk and we laugh. There’s so much to share.

At night when it’s dark and all the work’s through,
We sit and relax, reflect on what’s new.

When bed-time arrives, we all end the day,
We sleep and repair while dreams have their say!

*Tune in tomorrow for a Tuesday Afternoon Tea post and on Wednesday for a Wednesday Wine Down post.
