If you stop by Pinterest you'll likely stumble upon one clever idea after the next - related to the use of toilet paper rolls. There are so many moms and teachers out there with creative ideas and craft activities!

Step down a notch and you'll have ideas like mine (ha): of the early childhood variety. I always want my kids to feel as though they can be involved in the crafting process even when that means the craft idea remains rather elementary. When it does, they cut, glue, laugh and learn and above all else -they love it!

I decided to use a few toilet paper rolls to create "What we love" hearts. Courtney (our nanny) helped the kids write on the hearts listing out the things they love. I then hung the hearts over the kitchen table so we could chat about them during dinner time:
